Checking for Oracle XE Service Instance Failed

 Hi Guys,

In this post we will see how to fix "Checking for Oracle XE Service Instance Failed" issue.

When we are installing Oracle XE Database, it is common that we may get this error.

If we click on Next button,

We will get the above wizard end with finish button.

The reason for this type of error is that the service we are installing is already present in windows service registry.

So, we need to delete this service registry.

Steps:

  • Open Command Prompt(CMD).Click start button and type cmd.
  • Right Click on CMD and select Run as administrator.
  • Then type the command as
            sc delete OracleServiceXE

Now the problem is solved, go and install Oracle XE.

Thank You..
